The Magic Portal: Discovering the Colorful Chinatown Arch

The imposing arch guarding the entrance to Chinatown was not always part of the Buenos Aires landscape. It was erected in May 2009 on Arribeños Street, thanks to a donation from the Asian community and the impetus of a cultural exchange seeking to intertwine two distant worlds on a single corner in Belgrano. Eleven meters of stone and cement with a clear purpose.

Much More Than a Souvenir Photo

Crossing it acts like a portal to another sensory dimension. But the true charm does not end with the structure: it unfolds as you walk its passageways, step into markets full of mysteries and unknown aromas, or sit down to enjoy a steaming bowl of ramen and artisanal ice cream just steps from the train tracks. It is definitive proof that Buenos Aires embraces the entire world without losing an ounce of its identity.
